  • Oil on board. Kettlewell, North Yorkshire, looking towards Hagg Dyke. Gordon Barlow. (1913 Bradford -2004). He was a protégé of Herbert Royle (1870-1958) and painted prolifically, mainly in oils. His artwork became popular to a point where he was able to work freelance as a professional oil painter. As a number of his paintings included golfers and golf courses, he was included in the Dictionary of Sporting Artists 1650-1990, published by the Antique Collectors Club in 1992. However, most of his subjects were of landscape and village scenes, particularly along the Wharfe Valley in Yorkshire. Frames Size Width: 34" / 87 cms Height: 24" / 61 cms
  • Oil on board of a northern street scence. Possibly Leeds. Barbara Dawson. Exhibited at the Yorkshire Artists Exhbition in 1957. This exhibition, held at Leeds City Art Gallery, was notable for featuring work by a young David Hockney, including a painting of his father. At the time, Hockney was a student at Bradford College of Art. The painting of his father was sold at the exhibition for £10, which Hockney said helped him financially. The exhibition also included work by other students from the University, as well as tutors. Framed Size Width: 24" / 61 cms Height: 17" / 43 cms
