These are sometimes known as food cupboards but this is a glass case/cupboard which was designed so that the owners rare and expensive glassware was visible to visitors. In the great parlour of 17th century Oakwell Hall, West Yorkshire hangs a cupboard with a similar baluster,silhouette splat design to the doors. A single door held by iron strapwork hinges.
