Oil of a Northern Street Scene
£350.00Oil on board of a northern street scence. Possibly Leeds. Barbara Dawson. Exhibited at the Yorkshire Artists Exhbition in 1957. This exhibition, held at Leeds City Art Gallery, was notable for featuring work by a young David Hockney, including a painting of his father. At the time, Hockney was a student at Bradford College of Art. The painting of his father was sold at the exhibition for £10, which Hockney said helped him financially.
